Popular Jaipur Excursions Guide

Jaipur Excursions Among all the popular tourist spots in Rajasthan, Jaipur comes in the first place, not because it is the capital city, but is one of the most frequently visited cities, in Rajasthan, India. There are a number of excursions to see around Jaipur, Rajasthan. These beautiful destinations offer quick getaways from the Pink City. Some of the famous excursions are mentioned below:

Sanganer, located 12 km southeast of Jaipur, on Tonk Road, has a popular airport for the city. This small town not only possesses beautiful
Jain temples, but also features the ruined palaces, broken city walls, triple gateway and a neglected Mughal garden. One can find here large and small units of block and screen printers to produce some of the finest hand printed textile in the country.

Ranthambore National Park, in the eastern part of Rajasthan, only 130kms from Jaipur, lies between the Aravali and Vindhya mountain ranges. Earlier, it was used as a hunting ground of Maharajas of Jaipur. It is a best place for animal lovers and not only boasts of peaceful surroundings but is also the home to many endangered species. Various natural rivers and man-made lakes flow through this park.

Abhaneri, a small town village, nearly 95 km from Jaipur, on Jaipur-Agra road, near Bandikui is known for the amazing 'Baoris' (step wells) and Harshat Mata Temple, built by the King Raja Chand.

Ramgarh Lake, 25 km north-east from the city of Jaipur, well known for its massive artificial lake constructed by making a high bund in between tree covered hills, one of the best place for visitors to go for picnic during the rainy season. The temple of Jamwa Mata and the ruins of the old fort, is also a source to remember the hoary antiquity of the place.

Bagru, a small village on the Ajmer road, is merely 30 km from Jaipur. The village town was named after its prints, Bagru prints, in which a wooden block is carved with the required design, and then this block is dipped in color and pressed on the cloth to transfer the design.
