Widely known as a pink city, Jaipur in Rajasthan is a land of rich culture and heritage that ideally reflects in its various fairs and festivals. People of this royal city celebrate numerous festivals throughout the year in its own traditional way and add colors of fun and excitement to life. Like any other part of India, there are various festivals celebrated in Jaipur but some of the most famous festivals that are celebrated in the most uncommon way here include - Elephant festival, Diwali, Teej festival, Kite festival and Gangaur festival.

Elephant festival - It is one of the most famous festivals of Jaipur, celebrated on the eve of Holi. The concept of this festival is very unique. It is ideally starts with procession of elephants, camels, horses and folk dancers. But as its name suggests the main attraction of this festival is Elephants that come in their attire and eventually the best decorated elephant is awarded.

Teej festival - Although, Teej is celebrated across the world, its real charm is found just in Jaipur. This is celebrated in the month of July to August by the married women, who pray to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati for their long and happy married life. Kite festival: Widely known as Makar Sankranti, the Kite festival is celebrated on the 14th of January in all over India with great enthusiasm. On this day the devotees take a dip into the holy water of Galtaji tank and also fly colorful kites.
