The Desert Capital of Rajasthan, Jaipur, is about 258 km from Delhi and is one of the most popular and favored tourism destinations in India. The city is known for its astonishing architectural splendor and town planning. of the city was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh in 1799. This pink structure, a five storey building, made of sand stone, was mainly designed, so as to allow the Rajput women to view the streets and bazaars down below without being seen.

Albert Hall Museum, an old and famous museum, modeled on the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, is located in the Ramnivas Gardens. Based on the Indo-Persian style of architecture, features a collection, of portraits of local kings, costumes, woodcarvings, paintings, arts and crafts.
Sisodia Rani Ka Bagh, is a terraced garden, on the Jaipur-Agra road at a distance of 6 km from Jaipur. Built by Sawai Jai Singh II for his Sisodia is known for its fountains, pools, some gorgeous pieces of sculpture and painted pavilions.
Jantar Mantar, the largest stone observatory in the world, was built by the astronomer king, Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh in 1726. The amazing three-storey-high observatory is set with futuristic scientific instruments or yantras, having a specific purpose to measure the positions of the stars, altitudes, time of the day or even calculating eclipses.
Birla Temple, also known as the Laxmi Narayan Mandir, in the south of Jaipur, was constructed by the wealthy business family of Birlas. Dedicated to Lord Vishnu and Goddess Laxmi, the temple is a white marble structure, with three domes, each styled according to different approaches to religion. |
