History:
Built by Sawai Pratap Singh, in 1799 AD, this palace was built by constructing a dam between two hills. Sawai Pratap Singh built this palace for the royal family as a place of leisure and especially for royal duck shooting parties.
Structure:
Set in the midst of the Man Sagar Lake, the palace is known for its intricate artistry and architecture. The four floors of the building are four floors of the building are permanently under water. Only the top floor of the palace is visible. This red sandstone monument looks particularly magnificent during monsoon in a lake filled with water hyacinth.
