Introduction & History
Samode is placed in the royal Indian state of Rajasthan and is about 42 km from capital city Jaipur. Samode was one of the grand places of Jaipur, built in the 19th century and is well-known for its havelis and forts. The Samode Palace was built 400 years ago, which makes a best destination for the tourists who value heritage and local |
arts. The Palace belonged to Rawals of Samode, who were not the part of Royal family but were wealthy noblemen. The Rawals were given the title of "Maha Rawal" by the Royal family, as an incentive for their courage and faithfulness. The striking Palace is embellished with rich work of ornamentation and is a wonderful example of Rajput-Mughal architecture.
Architecture & Design
The palace was converted into Heritage Hotel by the Samode family after making several additions to it. The interiors of the Palace are harmonized with warm colored walls, delicate marble work, colorful patterns and traditional art objects. The prominence of the building is the lovely Diwan-i-khas covered with innovative paintings and mirror work. The Durbar Hall is the highlight of this Palace. It is one of the most stunning halls showcasing mirror work and enamel work of "Minakari".
